one of the death causes.
Canada's death toll is rising. It rose up to twelve.
In Quebec, about 900,000 households remained

without power and heat. Montreal homes are expecting
heat and power in a few days. The shelters are so full that they're running
out of beds and diapers to supply fot eh people and the babies.
Gov.George Pataki has asked that Lewis County also be
designated as a disaster area. Choppers are still searching for residents
that are stranded. In Maine carbon monoxide leaves two people dead, and
230,000 home and businesses are without heat and power. About thirty percent
of the roads are blocked because of falling trees and dead power lines.
Because of the low low temperatures, more people are going to be in shelters.

to boil water for the next 24 to 48 hours. Flights are being discouraged
to Montreal. In northern New England weary utility crews worked yesterday
to bring back power and heat to thousands of homes. This ice storm caused
more damage in Quebec putting the neighborhood down. Damage of highways
and railroads could reach up to $700 million dollars.
The Canadian government has employed over 11,000 soldiers

competent this case would become an odd situation with
Kaczynski motion about being his own lawyer still in question but since
he did pass the tests he had to take he will not be able to act as his
own judge.
Jan 12 Dr. Johnson met with Kaczynski twice for several
hours at each session. They met in a glass room where Kaczynski is being
held. Lawyers monitored this interview watching through the glass to make
sure nothing improper happens. Defense lawyers where asked not to be in
the room during the interview. These meetings occured to make sure Kaczynski
understood the charges against hime and what can assist his defense.
Kaczynski wish to get back his belongings taken out of
his cabin was denied. He did not want them to be presented in court. Some
of the findings found in Kaczynski's cabin inlcudes writings of bombs and
electrical circuits also improvised explosive devices including many materials
used in the alleged bombings.
Under the current schedule the prosecution and defense
have until Jan 21 to tell the Burell if they have any questions to the
psychiatrists findings. Also whether or not to call any other witnesses
than Johnson on January 22 when the trial resumes.
